An Exciting Opportunity for a Receptionist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a receptionist to join the UCH Outpatients Department. You will be part of an outpatient team delivering a frontline administrative support service to both patients and clinical teams.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working within a busy multi-disciplinary outpatient team to support in the delivery of a high-quality outpatient service. You will work collaboratively to provide full clinic receptionist and administrative support to various clinical teams, patients, and visitors across the three medical specialties outpatient departments. This is a permanent contract for 37.5 hours per week with shifts spanning across our operational times of 8am–6pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide full clinic receptionist and administrative support to various clinical teams, patients, and visitors.
  • Respond effectively and respectfully to patient queries.
  • Undertake the full complement of administrative duties including outcoming clinic appointments, scanning documents to EPIC, and checking patients in.
  • Share our vision to continually improve our patient’s experiences across our outpatient departments.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated with a proactive approach towards teamwork and service delivery.
  • High degree of empathy, diplomacy, and sensitivity with an acute awareness of the needs of both patients and the clinical teams.
  • Good organizational skills supported by previous administrative experience.
  • Competent level of IT skills using Microsoft Office software packages.
  • Experience in the use of Epic (Patient administration Record) or similar IT systems will be an advantage but not essential.
