Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and Morrison’s in the UK.
About the Role
We are seeking a friendly, organised and professional Receptionist to be the first point of contact for visitors and employees at our busy food manufacturing site. The successful candidate will provide an efficient front-of-house service while supporting the wider business with travel bookings and general administrative duties. This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You will be an organised and customer-focused individual who enjoys interacting with people and takes pride in delivering excellent service. You will thrive in a busy environment, balancing front-of-house responsibilities with administrative support while ensuring the reception area operates efficiently each day.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 08:00-16:30
Salary Range: £26,500-£28,000
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome visitors, contractors, and customers, ensuring a professional and positive first impression.
- Organise refreshments for meetings and visitors as required.
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it remains tidy, organised and welcoming.
- Answer, screen and direct incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally.
- Assist employees with general enquiries and direct them to the appropriate departments.
- Coordinate visitor sign-in procedures and ensure compliance with site security and health and safety requirements.
- Book domestic and international flights, accommodation and other travel arrangements for employees as required.
- Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing post.
- Provide administrative support, including filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry and document preparation.
- Order and maintain office and reception supplies.
- Support the HR, Finance, and Operations teams with ad hoc administrative tasks as required.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the office and reception function.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a receptionist, front desk or administrative role.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Professional and welcoming manner with excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
