Veterinary Receptionist (Maternity Cover)
Beaumont Veterinary Group – Kidlington, Headington & Botley

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and making pets a priority? We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, and motivated individual with a genuine love of animals to join our team as a Veterinary Receptionist at Beaumont Veterinary Group.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy veterinary practice, covering a maternity leave position across our front-of-house teams. You'll develop a wide range of skills, including customer service, administration, communication, and multitasking, while receiving comprehensive training and support from our experienced team.

- Kidlington
- Headington
- Botley Road

Hours
22.6 hours per week
Shift Pattern
Monday to Friday, with shifts between 12:00pm and 7:00pm, plus a 1 in 3 Saturday rota.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are highly desirable, alongside the ability to travel independently across the local area to meet business needs.
Availability
Additional weekday overtime may occasionally be available, and flexibility to support the wider team would be welcomed.

About The Role
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will play a vital role as the first point of contact for our clients. You will be responsible for creating a warm and professional welcome, delivering outstanding customer service, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our practices. Working closely with our veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support staff, you will help ensure every client and patient receives the best possible experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with people, and is passionate about animal welfare.

About The Role:
- Manage Communication: Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
- Inquiries Resolution: Respond to queries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism
- Client Reception: Greet and register new clients, ensuring a warm welcome
- Insurance Management: Process and manage insurance forms adeptly
- Medication Distribution: Dispense medications as required
- Financial Transactions: Process payments accurately and efficiently
- Emotional Support: Provide empathy and understanding to clients during distressing times, while maintaining professionalism
- System Utilisation: Organise patients using the in-house system efficiently
- Inter-practice Communication: Liaise with veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries
- Debt and Refund Management: Make necessary phone calls regarding debts, belongings, and refunds
- Client Care: Above all, ensure that every client feels welcomed and valued at our practice

Who We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Receptionist is a must; experience in a veterinary setting is a bonus!
- Resilience and the ability to handle emotional situations with grace
- Strong communication skills paired with genuine empathy
- Outstanding customer service skills and experience with the public
- Positive attitude and superior teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
