Join the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart & Lung Research Institute (VPD-HLRI)

Join the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart & Lung Research Institute (VPD-HLRI), part of the University of Cambridge, and play a central front of house role in the day-to-day running of a busy research environment.

With around 450 staff, modern laboratory space, a Clinical Research Facility, and a wide range of meeting and event spaces, the Institute is an active and welcoming place to work.

You will be part of the reception team, acting as the first point of contact for visitors, staff and collaborators. A varied role where you will bring a calm, organised and approachable approach to everything you do.

A key part of the role is balancing priorities. You will be greeting visitors, answering enquiries and supporting colleagues, while also ensuring rooms are set up on time and any day-to-day issues are dealt with promptly. We are looking for someone who can manage this with a positive, helpful approach.

The Most Important Requirement

The most important requirement is the right approach. You will need to be reliable, organised and comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change. You should be able to communicate clearly, use basic IT systems such as Outlook, Word and Excel, and work well as part of a team.

You will be joining a supportive team within a leading research institute, with training provided to help you develop in the role. This is an opportunity to gain experience in a large, complex organisation and contribute to a workplace that supports important research.
