About Manor Farm and the Role
Manor Farm, part of Hampshire County Council’s Countryside Service, is a beloved family-focused visitor attraction nestled within a historic rural environment. We seek an enthusiastic Administration and Front of House Assistant to join our welcoming team, ensuring efficient, smooth, and exceptional visitor operations.
This role focuses on providing outstanding customer service, supporting administrative tasks, and contributing to the day-to-day management of Manor Farm’s front-of-house operations.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage daily administrative and customer-facing tasks, ensuring a pleasant and professional experience for visitors.
What You’ll Do:
Front of House & Visitor Experience
- Provide a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to all visitors.
- Offer clear, accurate information about Manor Farm, activities, events, and special attractions.
- Actively engage with visitors to promote memberships, events, and activities.
- Handle in-person and written visitor enquiries with efficiency.
- Assist with visitor flow management, especially during busy periods or group arrivals.
- Operate tills accurately, processing cash, card, and digital payments.
- Maintain excellent presentation standards in customer interactions.
- Ensure safety and security for visitors, staff, and volunteers, including emergency response.
- Support colleagues and volunteers in fostering a team-based, positive environment.

Administration & Operational Support
- Respond to enquiries via email, phone, or in person with prompt, helpful responses.
- Use Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel) for routine tasks.
- Monitor and restock retail areas, maintaining attractive product displays.
- Process retail deliveries, including stock checking, recording, and storage.
- Keep public-facing spaces clean, tidy, and welcoming.
- Adhere to countryside service policies on safety, welfare, and animal care.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented individual with:
- Strong administrative experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional customer service skills, particularly in busy or interactive environments.
- Experience working in customer-facing roles within a structured, policy-driven setting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, holidays, and weekends on short notice.
Desirable qualities include experience in a local authority, visitor attraction, or heritage-environment setting.

- You will work a rotating shift pattern, including every third weekend, bank holidays, and occasional short-notice shifts.
