About the Role
Due to ongoing growth, we are inviting applications for an experienced Receptionist/Client Care Team Member to join our team at Wear Referrals. This is a genuine opportunity for candidates with extensive high-level reception experience gained in a busy and challenging professional environment to join a successful and growing business with scope for career development for the right candidate. A customer service qualification is preferred.
Job Responsibilities
- Welcoming clients and their pets in a warm, professional manner.
- Managing the diary; booking in appointments and surgical procedures.
- Answering a range of client questions via email and telephone.
- Pro-active communication between clients and colleagues to ensure the day runs smoothly.
- Administration duties e.g. scanning paperwork, filling in forms etc.
- Processing prescription requests.
- Taking payments.
- Promoting offers and services.
- Ensuring that reception is clean and well-stocked.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar high-pressure client care environment, be organised, smart and professional in appearance, detail orientated, committed to excellent customer service and able to commit to a shift-based role. Client Care Team Members are required to wear a corporate uniform and be able to sit and stand for long periods to cover the reception area and the back office, aside from scheduled breaks.

This is a full-time position working 40hrs/week over 5 days, Monday to Sunday, shifts between 7am -10pm.

About Us
Wear Referrals is a multi-disciplinary, specialist veterinary referral hospital in the North East of England, close to the historic university city of Durham, the thriving city of Newcastle, and set between the northeast coast and the Pennines. The hospital is also within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and Scotland.
Our specialist services include neurology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, anaesthesia, oncology, diagnostic imaging and cardiology, a busy primary care out-of-hours emergency service, in-house hydrotherapy.
Our team of 150 staff includes 17 European/RCVS Specialists and 70 registered veterinary nurses. We have an established internship programme and residency programmes in surgery, internal medicine and oncology; additionally, we are accredited as a training venue and examination centre for veterinary nurse training.
