We're looking for a dynamic and passionate animal enthusiast to join our team as a Veterinary Receptionist at our Carmarthen vet hospital.
Role Details
- Position: ECC (Emergency and Critical Care) Receptionist
- Location: Carmarthen vet hospital
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 16 hours per week
- Shift Pattern: Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Communication: Efficiently handle incoming calls and schedule appointments
- Inquiries Resolution: Respond professionally via phone, email, or in-person
- Client Reception: Register new clients and ensure a warm, welcoming experience
- Insurance Management: Process and manage insurance forms accurately
- Medication Distribution: Dispense required medications with precision
- Financial Transactions: Ensure accurate payment processing
- Emotional Support: Provide empathy and reassurance to clients in distress while maintaining professionalism
- System Utilisation: Efficiently organise patient information within our in-house system
- Inter-Practice Communication: Liaise with veterinary teams to address patient needs and concerns
- Debt and Refund Management: Conduct follow-up calls regarding outstanding debts, lost belongings, and refunds
- Client Care: Prioritise excellent service to make every client feel welcome and valued

Requirements
- Essential: Previous experience as a Receptionist
- Preferred: Previous experience in a veterinary setting
- Resilience in handling emotional situations
- Strong communication skills with genuine empathy
- Exceptional customer service experience, especially with the public
- Positive attitude and superior teamwork ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
