**Premier Foods – Receptionist (Part-Time) |

**Based - St Albans, AL1 2RE **Permanent, Part-Time – Wed 8:00–17:00, Thu 8:00–17:00, Fri 8:00–16:00


About the Role

Premier Foods is seeking an experienced, friendly, and highly organised permanent Receptionist to provide part-time reception support at our St Albans Head Office.

This is an opportunity for someone who relishes being the extended voice of our organisation, ensuring a reception experience that is warm, professional, and efficient. You’ll play a key role in creating a positive first impression for visitors, contractors, and colleagues alike.


Key Responsibilities

You’ll cover front-of-house operations on a part-time basis, supporting the Facilities Team by:

  • Switchboard duty – Answering and efficiently directing inbound calls.
  • Visitor relations – Welcoming guests with professionalism, offering refreshments, and advising hosts of arrivals.
  • Assuming ownership of reception standards – Maintaining a clean, orderly, and welcoming workplace at all times.
  • Administrative support:
    • Coordination of incoming and outgoing post/courier services.
    • Booking preferred taxis while maintaining booking logs.
    • Supporting Health & Safety protocols for visitors and contractors.
  • Logistics & purchasing:
    • Raising purchase orders and processing taxi, courier, and stationery invoices.
  • Facilities support:
    • Providing site information and assisting with general administration tasks.
  • Process improvement – Collaborating with team members to refine workflows.

Essential & Preferred Qualities

  • Experience in a busy reception or switchboard environment (essential).
  • Clear communication – Ability to engage effortlessly with senior stakeholders while maintaining a friendly professionalism.
  • Organisational excellence – Highly adaptable in a fast-paced environment where changing priorities are the norm.
  • Precision-driven – Meticulous detail attention, particularly when dealing with systems or sensitive information.
  • Proficient IT skills – Comfortable using multiple computer software systems.
  • Adaptability under pressure – Staying composed and professional in a demanding environment.
