The award-winning One Spa has an exciting opportunity for a Spa Receptionist.
Regarded as Europe’s most advanced city spa, One Spa, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh, is a natural balance of energy, water, and heat in a beautiful, light-filled space. The philosophy at One Spa is all-encompassing; down to the smallest details, the Spa is designed to comfort, pamper, and relax.
This role involves working 40 hours per week on 5 days out of 7. There will be weekend work and it involves Early and Late shift cover with the earliest start time of 06:00 and the latest finish time of 22:30.
Responsibilities
- Working as part of a team of Spa Receptionists to deliver outstanding guest service.
- Assisting in driving the financial performance of the spa including retail sales, treatment scheduling, and upselling.
- The role also involves taking care of day guests, hotel guests, and spa members.
You will:
- Ensure a warm, friendly welcome to all guests
- Have a complete knowledge of the treatments and services offered, and any promotions that may be on offer at the time
- Co-ordinate guests’ consultation records with our therapy team.
- Be responsible for all billing procedures at the reception desk and the correct reconciliation of funds at the close of each shift and at the end of the day’s work.
- Complete daily opening procedures and check lists per relevant area daily.
- Schedule reservations of spa services for guests and monitor availability of treatments and staff to ensure prompt service according to the relevant skills of the therapists.
- Organise scheduling to maximise use of time and profitability whilst ensuring that the client’s needs are of first importance.
- Show a professional attitude at all times, particularly with regard to punctuality, appearance, and general manner.
- Supervise and conduct the safety of users and equipment of the spa and receive training to ensure that all relevant legislation pertaining to the Health and Safety at Work Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the spa.
- Recognise the importance of "sales" in every aspect of your role.
- Be responsible for preparing the reception area and desk for the next shift, ensuring all messages have been passed on before leaving and that adequate supplies at all public information material are available.
- Ensure guest areas, including locker areas and fitness areas, are kept clean and up to standard, following our Commitment to Clean guidelines.

Attributes Required
- Previous experience within a luxury five-star environment would be beneficial.
- Experience of working with hotel and spa booking and scheduling software.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours.
- Impeccable personal presentation.
- Excellent understanding of client care and five-star standards.
- Genuine interest in holistic spa philosophy.
- Committed, enthusiastic, and customer-focused.
- Ability to work as part of a dedicated and passionate team.
