Receptionist

Reception/Business Support Officer – Permanent, Part-Time (21 Hours + 2 Weeks TTO)

Ealing Council is seeking an organised, customer-focused individual to join their welcoming team at the Ealing Education Centre (Greenford, UB6) as a Reception/Business Support Officer in a permanent, part-time role (Tuesday–Thursday, term-time + 2 weeks during school holidays).

This is an office-based, fully hybrid role offering excellent work-life balance while providing the chance to contribute to a supportive, thriving team within a dynamic education and training environment.


The Role

You will serve as the first point of contact, delivering exceptional administrative and front-of-house support to ensure smooth operations and an efficient, welcoming atmosphere for visitors, delegates, trainers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional, friendly, and welcoming reception service for all visitors, delegates, and staff.
  • Handle telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries with consistent, high-quality customer service.
  • Administer training courses, events, and room bookings via multi-system platforms, preparing venues and assisting with event/logistics support.
  • Maintain accurate databases, filing systems, records, and financial transactions (e.g., purchase orders, invoices).
  • Support colleagues in generating documents, reports, and correspondences.
  • Lipase the venue, stocking communal areas, and ensuring presentability.
  • Offer collaborative business support to enhance operational efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum GCSE standard in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for front-of-house and administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and digital systems for booking/record management.
  • Experience in a busy customer-facing or office environment demonstrates resilience under pressure.
  • Flexible, independent, and team-oriented approach with sound organisational ability.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with training/event management software and venue bookings.
  • Background in schools/council services (a-plus pointing to Ealing borough context).
