Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Receptionist with Admin Duties role. The role involves greeting patients, answering telephone calls, and managing appointment bookings in a courteous and efficient manner. Day-to-day tasks include checking patients in and out, updating and maintaining patient records, handling incoming and outgoing mail, and supporting clinicians with administrative requests. The role also involves basic clerical duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and using practice IT systems to support smooth daily operations. Team members collaborate in a friendly, professional environment where patient care, confidentiality, and respect are central. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist and support the GPs, Practice Manager, Nursing staff and administrative team in providing a high quality medical service. Receive, assist and direct patients in a courteous and efficient way. Provide strong customer service and communication skills to engage professionally with patients, visitors, and other healthcare professionals (eg local pharmacists, District Nurses). Demonstrate proficient phone etiquette; dealing with phone calls for appointments, prescriptions and patient queries. Clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, record management. Work with computerised systems for booking appointments and data entry. Deal with incoming and outgoing mail. Comply with all practice protocols and procedures. Work with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow confidentiality and data protection procedures. Any other duties to meet the requirements of the post.

Essential Criteria: · 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent OR a minimum of 18 months’ relevant administrative experience. · Experience dealing with members of the public or in a healthcare environment. · Competent in the use of IT systems. · Ability to work well as part of a team. · Ability to work under pressure with accuracy. · Ability to multi-task and adapt to change in an evolving work environment. · Proven track record of good attendance, punctuality and consistent performance.

Desirable Criteria: · Knowledge of medical terminology. · Previous experience as a medical receptionist.
Job type: part-time, temporary for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Work Location: in person
