Receptionist/Pupil Administrator

Receptionist/Pupil Administrator

Location: Kestrel House School, Crouch End, London N8 9EA

Salary: £26,775.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday | 8:00am – 4:15pm

Contract: Permanent | Term Time plus 3 Weeks

Start: September 2026 UK applicants only – this role does not offer sponsorship


About the Role

As part of our continued growth, Kestrel House School is looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Receptionist / Pupil Administrator to join our dedicated team.

This is much more than a reception role. You’ll be the welcoming face of our school, providing exceptional support to pupils, families, visitors, and colleagues while contributing to the smooth daily running of the school office. Every day is different, offering the chance to impact a caring and supportive school community.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Welcome visitors, parents, and professionals, providing a warm, professional first impression.
  • Manage telephone calls, emails, post, and deliveries to ensure efficient enquiry handling.
  • Provide high-quality administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and wider school staff.
  • Coordinate pupil admissions, referrals, assessments, and maintain accurate pupil records.
  • Ensure the reception and school office remain organised, welcoming, and professional.
  • Maintain confidential records and school databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support safeguarding, attendance, health & safety, and other key school administrations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the school daily.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Has previous administration experience, ideally in education, healthcare, or another regulated environment.
  • Is a confident communicator with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Is highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Is approachable, professional, and enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
  • Understands the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Is proactive, flexible, and able to work calmly in a busy environment.
  • Is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
