Records Control Assistant (9-Month FTC)
Horsham | £29.9k - £35.9k per annum (dependent on skills, qualifications and location)
Full time | Hybrid – Office & Site based

As a Records Control Assistant, you’ll play an important role in keeping our network records accurate and up to date. You’ll split your time between office work and site visits, capturing measurements, checking project progress and producing clear “as ‑ laid ” drawings that support the safe delivery of our construction work. You’ll work independently, use SGN systems to update key data, and help ensure our teams have the reliable information they need to keep gas flowing safely across the region.

- Carry out weekly site visits across our construction region, capturing detailed information on Replacement Projects and taking measurements of laid and abandoned mains pipework to produce accurate “as-laid” drawing packs for digitisation.
- Record precise statistics for laid and abandoned pipework to support updates to our network records.
- Produce “as-laid” drawings for services when required.
- Ensuring that compliance targets are met in relation to the role i.e D+30
- Reporting and submitting any network inaccuracies via Error Management reporting process (DR4)
- Promote and encourage safe working behaviours with SGN colleagues

The role involves a varied combination of office/computer work and project site visits across our operational area.
- Using SGN systems – for example Maximo & Geofield
What You Will Need
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail, effective time management, and a methodical approach to work.
- Have good computer skills with a proactive approach when addressing challenges.
- Be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively to meet business objectives.
- Be able to interpret drawings, capture field measurement and accurately produce information for these assets to be captured.
- Advise operational staff on the requirements for recording as laid records and promote the importance of recording and submitting accurate data.
- Have the ability to communicate with SGN staff and Business partners at all levels relating to operational activities.
- Knowledge of our capture DDU process to ensure records are captured timely and accurately. Resolve any issues reported from DDU in relation to as laid records.
- The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to work and hold a full valid manual driving licence. A vehicle (van) is provided for the role
