Overview

We are currently looking for a Family Team Recovery Coordinator to join our dedicated Swindon service. You will ensure a high quality and consistent service to families with either drug and/or alcohol related issues engaged with Children's' Services as part of the Family Safeguarding Service.

The role is co-located with Children's Services in Swindon Borough Council.

Responsibilities

About the Role

  • To deliver outreach services to families promoting access for service users and concerned others
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
  • To adhere to CGL policies and processes in delivery of services – particularly lone working and health and safety related to working with complex service users.
  • To undertake focused work with families of interest.
  • To provide rapid and flexible interventions where required to meet the needs of the service users.

About You

  • A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group, e.g. mental health services, criminal justice agencies, community groups, etc.
  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
  • Experience of safeguarding and working in the substance misuse field.
  • Knowledge of the issue facing families where substance misuse is present.
  • Good knowledge of local community based support practices.
