Recovery Coordinator – Drug and/or Alcohol Team
Location: Stourbridge Hours: Full-time, 37.5 per week Contract: Permanent

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Recovery Coordinator in our Drug and/or Alcohol Team to assess, engage with, and support service users in accessing the right intervention at the right time.
No two days are the same—you’ll treat every person as an individual, so flexibility, curiosity, and strong listening skills are essential.
About the Role
- Supporting service users from point of entry into the service through their recovery pathway
- Conducting screening, assessment, and recovery planning, followed by referral
- Effectively assessing, planning, monitoring, and reviewing detoxification journeys using designated tools within agreed timescales
- Planning and facilitating inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation, including:
- Identifying and securing appropriate facilities
- Supporting assessment processes
- Managing transition periods
- Ensuring a positive experience through thorough preparation
- Acting as an advocate to facilitate access to partnership services
- Driving social (re)integration, enabling service users to lead meaningful and purposeful lives
- Leading recovery-focused initiatives, including:
- Crafting group materials (e.g., subject matter and workshop content)
- Delivering structured group settings (tailored to various stages of recovery)
- Conducting post-session debriefs and evaluations, reviewing progress and addressing concerns
- Designing customised workshops (e.g., anger management, sleep disorders, relationship support)

About You
You’ll need:
- A deep understanding of substance misuse and demonstrated experience working in a similar field
- Experience managing groups/pods, handling conflict and challenging behaviour
- Clinical prescribing knowledge (essential)
- Previous involvement in community-driven opioid detox programmes
- Proactive, self-driven, with excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Strong grasp of mental health interventions, services, and best practices
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with varied professionals, agencies, and stakeholders
- Knowledge of information governance guidelines and commitment to safeguarding protocols
- A commitment to lifelong learning—willingness to upskill and mentor others

Key Notes

Salary range: £28,557.79 – £32,802.41 (bands 23-28), based on experience.
