Job Description

Location: Donnelly Group, Mallusk Way

We are recruiting a Recovery Driver (Category C/Class 2) to join the Donnelly Group Fleet Division.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and customer-focused driver to become part of a professional fleet team, providing vehicle transport and recovery services across Northern Ireland, with occasional travel to the Republic of Ireland and mainland UK.

About the Role

As a Recovery Driver, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Fleet Division.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Operating a HGV Class 2 (C) licence (16 Tonne) recovery vehicle safely and efficiently.
  • Moving vehicles between Donnelly Group locations.
  • Collecting and delivering customer vehicles in a professional and timely manner.
  • Providing roadside breakdown assistance and vehicle recovery services.
  • Supporting fleet contracts through scheduled vehicle movements and transport work.
  • Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining accurate paperwork.
  • Ensuring compliance with all road traffic legislation and health and safety procedures.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service while representing the Donnelly Group professionally at all times.

Occasional travel within the Republic of Ireland and mainland UK may be required.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of 3 years' recent experience driving a recovery vehicle.
  • Full Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification.
  • Excellent driving skills with a strong commitment to road safety.
  • Professional, courteous and customer-focused approach.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Good administration and basic IT skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Required Criteria

  • 3 years + recent experience driving a recovery lorry.
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC Card)
  • Ability to drive vehicles up to a minimum class C on their licence.
  • Manual handling and ability to work in a demanding physical work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
  • Right to work in the UK.
