Job Description
Location: Donnelly Group, Mallusk Way
We are recruiting a Recovery Driver (Category C/Class 2) to join the Donnelly Group Fleet Division.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and customer-focused driver to become part of a professional fleet team, providing vehicle transport and recovery services across Northern Ireland, with occasional travel to the Republic of Ireland and mainland UK.
About the Role
As a Recovery Driver, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Fleet Division.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Operating a HGV Class 2 (C) licence (16 Tonne) recovery vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Moving vehicles between Donnelly Group locations.
- Collecting and delivering customer vehicles in a professional and timely manner.
- Providing roadside breakdown assistance and vehicle recovery services.
- Supporting fleet contracts through scheduled vehicle movements and transport work.
- Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining accurate paperwork.
- Ensuring compliance with all road traffic legislation and health and safety procedures.
- Delivering exceptional customer service while representing the Donnelly Group professionally at all times.
Occasional travel within the Republic of Ireland and mainland UK may be required.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 3 years' recent experience driving a recovery vehicle.
- Full Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Excellent driving skills with a strong commitment to road safety.
- Professional, courteous and customer-focused approach.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
- Ability to undertake manual handling and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good administration and basic IT skills.
- Right to work in the UK.

Required Criteria
- 3 years + recent experience driving a recovery lorry.
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC Card)
- Ability to drive vehicles up to a minimum class C on their licence.
- Manual handling and ability to work in a demanding physical work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
- Right to work in the UK.
