The Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Recovery Worker to join our team, working part-time (37.5 hours per week) in Gravesend. You will play a critical role in supporting individuals and their loved ones dealing with drug and alcohol issues, guiding them through assessment, treatment, and recovery.


Key Responsibilities

Support & Engagement

  • Deliver consistent support to service users from their first contact through to their recovery journey.
  • Conduct screening, assessment, and create recovery plans, including onward referrals.

Interventions & Care Coordination

  • Design and implement tailored interventions to mitigate harm from opiate use*, via group or individual sessions.
  • Prepare service users for pre-detox and deliver follow-up post-care support for sustained recovery.

Advocacy & Community Collaboration

  • Partner with external organisations to strengthen support networks for recovery, including referrals to mutual aid groups.
  • Engage families and communities, advocating for service users’ needs across partnership services.
  • Facilitate social reintegration, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.

About You: Qualifications & Skills

  • Deep understanding of drug and alcohol issues with direct field experience in this sector.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), enhanced by proficient IT abilities.
  • Independent, proactive approach with strong time management and prioritisation ability.
  • Expertise in mental health interventions, best practices, and services.
  • Supportive team collaborator, excelling with both diverse professionals and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability in delivering services while safeguarding service users’ best interests.
  • Commitment to information governance, safeguarding, and ongoing professional development.

✅ Salary Range (Pro Rata for Part-Time)

FL Gross Annual: £27,861.26 – £32,002.35 'Salary Holidays' (**CGL Points 23 to 28 – ODMP, Outside London Banding.). Part-Time: Holidays and pay are handled pro-rata.
