About the Role

The Recreation Craftsperson role supports the wider recreation team across the Forest of Dean, ensuring visitor sites and car parks are clean, tidy, and well-maintained. This involves:
- Regular collection and disposal of rubbish from bins
- Litter picking
- General maintenance tasks
You will also unlock site gates and barriers daily (following a varied schedule based on seasons and events).
Working as part of a seven-day rota (covering alternate weekends, public holidays, and occasional out-of-hours events), your role ensures safe, high-quality visitor experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining cleanliness and functionality of forest recreation sites.
- Managing access control to sites through gate unlocking duties.
- Supporting the recreation team’s operational goals while upholding visitor safety standards.

Location
Based at Forestry England’s Beechenhurst office (GL16 7EL), with work spanning the Forest of Dean areas.
