General Manager Recruiter – 40-45K + Bonus + Great Benefits
We’re looking for a GM Recruiter to join the People Team at Young’s. Reporting to the Recruitment Manager, the role will involve working closely with the People and Operations Team to support the recruitment of exceptional external candidates and the internal succession of our people.
Key Responsibilities
GM Recruitment & Succession
- Be the main point of contact for General Manager recruitment:
- Liaise with Ops Managers and Ops Directors to advertise roles, screen CVs, and conduct required interviews.
- Recruit General Managers of the Future:
- Target candidates for strong Deputy Manager positions to further develop into GMs within 6-12 months.
- Work with the Management Development Trainer to:
- Create succession plans, meet existing GMs-in-training and identify potential future hires.
- Match individuals with suitable business opportunities and sites.
- Discuss potential locations with the Recruitment Manager and Management Development Trainer.
- Attend GM Succession meetings alongside:
- Recruitment Manager, ODS, COO, and People Director as needed.
- Develop content for key vacancy advertisements and promote opportunities on external channels (e.g., LinkedIn).
- Proactively build an external talent pipeline by:
- Engaging with current GMs and future Young’s GM prospects.
- Conducting headhunting to identify stellar candidates.

Head Chef Recruitment Support
- Liaise with OMS and GMs to create and publish Head Chef job adverts, ensuring they align with each business’s unique food vision and achieve maximum reach.
- Partner with the Food Team to advertise the Head Chef Designate Programme externally.
- This long-term development programme trains Senior Sous Chefs to transition into Head Chef roles.
General Recruitment Support
- Coach General Managers on professional recruitment strategies.
- Lead quarterly recruitment workshops to reinforce best practices and tour available tools.
- Participate in:
- Area Operations and Divisional meetings to promote succession planning.
- Support recruitment for Copper House roles as required, collaborating with relevant department managers.
- Assist the Payroll Team and Recruitment Manager with further Harri System support (Young’s ATS):
- Troubleshoot queries and FAQs.
- Manage day-to-day recruitment inquiries via email/admin tasks.
- Perform other assigned duties as the role evolves organically.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience recruiting at a similar managerial level within hospitality.
- A true people person with exceptional communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Dynamic project management and time-organization abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously, adapt flexibly, and prioritise tasks to optimize productivity.
- Strong relationship-building expertise— comfortable engaging at all business levels (GMs, Operations Managers, Ops Directors).
- Creative thinker with a track record of continuous improvement in recruitment strategies.
