About the Role
This fixed-term opportunity provides maternity leave cover for up to 12 months. As a Recruitment Advisor, you will:
- Deliver cost-effective, high-quality recruitment and retention solutions
- Partner with hiring managers and HR professionals
- Support end-to-end recruitment from project inception to successful appointment
- Provide expert insights on selection processes
- Manage temporary agency arrangements
- Analyse workforce data to inform strategic hiring decisions
- Contribute to employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives
This role directly impacts talent acquisition, ensuring the Council attracts and retains the best people to support Gloucestershire’s communities.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting senior and executive recruitment processes
- Guiding managers from advert placement to final appointment
- Monitoring and managing temporary agency resources
- Leveraging workforce data to identify and address recruitment gaps
- Collaborating on employer branding strategies
- Ensuring adherence to recruitment legislation and safeguarding standards
Essential Requirements
To excel in this role, you must demonstrate:
✅ Experience in recruitment/Human Resources
- Managing entang-to-end recruitment processes
- Expertise in safer recruitment practices, right-to-work checks, and DBS processes
✅ Strong analytical skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret recruitment data to inform decisions
✅ Digital proficiency
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media recruitment tools
- Experience using digital HR platforms
✅ Time-management and stakeholder engagement
- Capacity to multitask and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with managers and cross-functional teams
✅ Education/qualifications
- Degree-level knowledge in HR, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Desirable Skills
Preferred, but not essential:
- Experience with Gloucestershire County Council or local government recruitment
- Knowledge of local job markets and employee engagement strategies
- Familiarity with talent pool management andPipeline recruitment
