Recruitment & Community Involvement Assistant
We are seeking a Recruitment & Community Involvement Assistant to join the EXCEED Study within the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Leicester.
About the Role
This role focuses on strengthening relationships between the study and local community networks across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland, supporting efforts to widen participation from ethnically diverse communities. You will play an important part in delivering engagement activity, from coordinating recruitment campaigns and community events to developing compelling social media content and promoting the study’s achievements through internal and external channels.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with colleagues in the EXCEED team and external partners
- Maintain engagement databases
- Support the development of promotional materials
- Contribute to the study’s communication strategies
- Assist in evaluating engagement activity
- Build relationships with other research projects to inform future recruitment approaches
Requirements
- Enthusiastic and confident communicator
- Experience of creating engaging digital content for social media and print
- Ability to tailor your approach for different audiences
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills
- Confidence to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including community organisations and research teams
- Organisational ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable using MS Office applications
- Experience with design tools such as Canva or Adobe software is ideal
- Collaborative mindset and genuine interest in community engagement
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Experience working with diverse communities or analysing engagement data would be advantageous
- Understanding of the importance of inclusive research practices
