About Us
Some recruitment businesses are built around people and others are built around markets.
Hawkstone Search was built around both.
We are a specialist legal search firm focused exclusively on the US market, partnering with law firms on hires that directly impact revenue, growth, and strategic direction.
We operate in a space where:
- Hiring demand is constant
- Fee sizes are significant
- And the best recruiters are rewarded accordingly
Because in the US legal world, recruitment isn’t transactional, it’s business-critical.
But, the real story behind Hawkstone Search is how and why the business was built.
In 2022, our Director turned down university offers, relocated to Manchester, and committed fully to recruitment.
Over the next few years, he:
- Progressed into top billing positions
- Broke performance records
- Worked across start-ups, scale-ups, and established firms

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
And in doing so, realised something simple: Most recruiters aren’t limited by ability, they’re limited by the market they operate in.
Hawkstone Search was built to solve that.
In the first 9 months:
- Over $600,000 billed
- Average fee: $75,000
- Our first hire did a £35K deal within 7 weeks of joining (no prior legal rec experience)
- Their commission will be £5–6K after 2 months
- Individuals on track for six-figure earnings in year one
What joining Hawkstone Search looks like: This is a high-performance environment designed for people who want more from recruitment:
- Access to a high-value, US-driven market
- Clear progression into leadership or high-billing individual roles
- Opportunity to relocate to the US as we scale
- Early-stage exposure with long-term equity potential
