Contract Recruitment Consultant – M&E / Technical
Leicester - LE19
£35,000 basic + monthly commission and every other Friday off
Are you an experienced recruiter who enjoys building relationships, creating strong candidate networks and growing accounts over time?
You do not need M&E recruitment experience for this role. We are looking for someone commercially sharp who knows how to build a reliable pool of candidates, stay close to clients and spot opportunities before they become urgent vacancies.
You will join our established Contract team, covering the East Midlands across M&E, building services, health & safety, facilities and related technical roles.
There is already a base to work from: warm clients, live requirements and regular three-to-nine-month contract assignments with higher value margins than other sectors. Your job is to build on that, become known in your market and grow existing client relationships into more repeat business.
What you will be doing
- Recruiting contractors across M&E, building services, H&S, facilities and technical roles
- Building strong local talent pools by skill set, location and availability
- Keeping in regular contact with contractors so you know who is good, available and ready to move
- Developing warm client relationships and uncovering upcoming projects, workforce gaps and future hiring needs
- Managing the full recruitment process, including candidate attraction, compliance, onboarding and contractor care
- Growing your desk through excellent service, consistent calls and commercial follow-up

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
