Recruitment Consultant (Contract) | Central London, UK | On-site
Hlx Life Sciences is a global life sciences recruitment company, founded over two years ago with a mission to address the global shortage of skilled talent in the sector. With over 100 years of combined life science recruitment experience and an advisory board of scientific industry experts, we partner with clients across Pharma, CROs, TechBio, and CDMOs, among others.
Backed by life science investors who believe in our mission, we work with some of the most innovative biotech companies and leading life science VCs to support company growth and portfolio expansion.
Since our launch in January 2024, we've grown to a team of 40+ globally, with offices across London, Basel and Boston. We've just come off the back of our strongest quarter to date, generating approximately £4M+ in Q2 alone.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a driven Recruitment Consultant to join our Central London team on a full-time, permanent basis, focused on placing contract talent across the life sciences sector. This is a genuine 360 desk - you'll own the full cycle from business development through to placement, with the backing of a business that's scaling fast and a market where demand for contract talent is only growing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
