Recruitment Consultant – £30k Basic + Uncapped Commission (OTE Y1 £45-50k) - Bristol
No industry experience needed. What you need is drive, graft and the ability to talk to anyone.
I'm working with an independent, award-winning specialist recruitment company and they're looking for their next Recruitment Consultant to join the team. They work with schools, trusts and education providers across the country, and demand is growing, so this is a genuine opportunity to get in and build a career, not just fill a seat.
This isn't your typical desk job. It's sales, relationship building, negotiation and problem solving all rolled into one, with earnings entirely in your hands.
Who they're looking for
They don't care where you've come from. Some of the best consultants I've placed have walked in from completely different careers: hospitality, the forces, healthcare, retail management, personal training. What they all had in common was a work ethic that couldn't be taught and a hunger to earn what they're actually worth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
If you've spent years grafting hard for someone else's business and know you could be doing more, this is the chance to put that same energy into building something for yourself.
You'll fit in here if you:
- Are money motivated and not afraid to say so
- Have a naturally engaging, confident, likeable personality
- Know what it means to put in a genuine day's work
- Can handle rejection and keep picking up the phone anyway
- Are competitive and want to see where hard work can actually take you
- Can hold a conversation with anyone, from a headteacher to a newly qualified teacher
- Want a career with a real ceiling on it, not a job with a cap
What the role actually involves
- Building and managing relationships with schools and education clients, understanding their staffing needs and becoming their go-to point of contact
- Sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates for teaching and support staff roles
- Managing the full recruitment process from first contact through to placement and beyond
- Proactively business developing new client relationships through calls, meetings and networking
- Negotiating terms, managing expectations and problem solving when things don't go to plan (because in recruitment, they sometimes won't)
- Hitting and exceeding targets, both individually and as part of the wider team
- Staying on top of a fast moving desk, juggling multiple roles and priorities at once
