Kick Start Your Recruitment Career in Advanced Engineering
Are you a Graduate or someone who is looking to kick start your recruitment career in recruitment working in the US Advanced Engineering team based from Manchester? If you’re ambitious, driven, and want to work in a fast-paced environment, we can provide you with all the support, training, and development to help you succeed!
Not a Graduate? No problem, we are looking for people to join our team with experience working in Sales, Retail, Hospitality, Customer Services, Events, Marketing, Recruitment, or similar areas – that would love to start a career in recruitment.
About the Role
Working in recruitment isn’t for the faint-hearted; it’s exciting, fast-paced, challenging, and at times, is like riding a roller coaster. You will need an entrepreneurial spirit with a work ethic that’s second to none. You will be passionate, ambitious, money-motivated, and driven to succeed in your career. It’s a great sector to get into if you want exposure to sales, marketing, and events, customer service, and so many other industries as it’s such a multifaceted role where no day is the same!
You will start to build your own mini business from day 1, by developing a network of candidates and clients within your specialist vertical market. Your varied role will include the following daily activities:
- Searching for suitable Advanced Engineering/ Clean Tech candidates who match our clients’ requirements
- Headhunting and networking on sites such as LinkedIn
- Writing and posting job adverts
- Interviewing candidates to assess their suitability for specific roles
- Arranging interviews for candidates and liaising with them during this time
- Making job offers to suitable candidates and handling rejections
- Taking references / collating relevant supporting documents
- Building relationships with existing and future clients
- Attending meetings with clients to explore potential opportunities
- Negotiating fees and terms of engagement

Requirements
What do we need from you?
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport quickly.
- Able to multitask, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail in data entry and candidate documentation.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
- Willingness to learn recruitment CRM or applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn) for candidate sourcing.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn and develop within recruitment.
- A proactive approach to sourcing and engaging with candidates.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Able to respond positively to feedback and training.
- Strong desire to provide a positive candidate experience.
- Punctual, dependable, and committed to delivering results.
- Internship or part-time experience in an office, sales, customer service, marketing, or events planning (Desirable but not essential)
- Understanding of the recruitment process or interest in the recruitment industry
