Recruitment Consultant – Construction Trades & Labour


Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow (Candidates based in either welcome)

CNX Recruitment is growing, and we're seeking an experienced Recruitment Consultant to take charge of a warm trades/labour portfolio.

  • Earning potential: Uncapped commission, no commission threshold for first 6 months

The Role

You’ll manage the full recruitment lifecycle in the Construction Trades & Labour market, partnering with contractors and businesses to deliver high-quality site-based workers.

This is a 360-degree recruitment role—balancing client relations with candidate development and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and building a warm Construction Trades & Labour pipeline
  • Developing new business with main contractors, subcontractors & construction firms
  • Growing and retaining existing client accounts
  • Sourcing & engaging skilled tradespeople (labourers, groundworkers, joiners, bricklayers, electricians, plumbers, etc.)
  • Advertising roles & proactively headhunting candidates
  • Matching temp & permanent opportunities to suitable talent
  • End-to-end recruitment: from vacancy validation through to placement execution
  • Conducting client meetings & site visits
  • Negotiating rates and commercial terms
  • Building and maintaining a pipeline of ready-to-work talent
  • Ensuring compliance with right-to-work and sector-specific standards
  • Delivering exceptional service to both clients and candidates

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in Construction Trades/Labour recruitment
  • A proven track record in relationship-building and new-business generation
  • Strong communication & negotiation skills
  • A proactive, self-driven approach
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals
  • Motivation to grow your own desk & progress with CNX
