Recruitment Lead
Recruitment Lead – Permanent Full-Time Role (Grade 8, 35 Hours/Week, £41,771 pa)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Recruitment Lead to join our central HR team at Prospere Learning Trust, a high-performing, inclusive, and innovative Trust across Greater Manchester.
Job Summary
This permanent, full-time (35 hours per week, all year round) role is responsible for delivering an inclusive, data-driven, and policy-aligned recruitment strategy that supports the Trust’s operational needs and strategic aspirations. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner in talent acquisition, ensuring high-quality HR service, positive candidate experiences, and support for recruitment campaigns.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Recruitment Leadership:
- Oversee the Trust’s recruitment process to ensure alignment with policies, legal requirements, safer recruitment practices, and industry best practice.
- Develop and implement an innovative recruitment strategy—leveraging data and evidence-based decision-making—to meet labour market and operational needs.
- Embed excellence in candidate experience, ensuring consistent branding and engagement through digital, social, and traditional media channels.

People Management & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with senior leaders to understand recruitment needs and operational challenges, acting as a trusted advisor on HR policy, employment law, and workforce planning.
- Maintain strong relationships with trade unions and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance and effective collaboration.
- Support HR colleagues to deliver exceptional administrative and communication services to recruiting managers and candidates.

Operational Excellence:
- Lead the development of recruitment plans, campaigns, and data reporting to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across school networks to refine recruitment processes, resource allocation, and employee engagement strategies.
- Implement flexible, agile recruitment methodologies (e.g., agile hiring) where appropriate to meet short-term demands.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Qualification & Experience:
- HR or business qualification (e.g., CIPD), preferably accredited in job evaluation.
- Substantial experience (3+ years preferred) in recruitment, selection, and HR policy advice—ideally within the education sector.
- A deep understanding of school sector-specific regulations, including teachers’ and support staff remuneration, discipline, and safeguarding policies, and labor market trends for educators.

Technical Skills:
- Expertise in using recruitment and HR systems to generate reports, analyse data, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Proficiency with ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), LMS (e.g., Prospectus, Brightrecruit), and analytics tools.
- Experience with social media, digital marketing, and employer branding tools to attract diverse talent pools.

Soft Skills & Mindset:
- Exceptional and inclusive communication skills (verbal and written) for engaging with all school communities, senior leaders, and external partners.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving ability, with a prudent approach to risk management in operational and strategic issues.
- Commitment to progressive andpeople-centred recruitment practices, building trust and positive engagement at all levels.
- Knowledge of workforce planning methodologies.
