Recruitment Manager
Bristol
Hybrid Working
Salary: £55000 - £60000 + DOE + Personal Commission + Team Override
Our client is a highly respected, specialist recruitment business with an outstanding reputation for delivering exceptional recruitment solutions across a niche, candidate-short market.
Following continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Recruitment Team Leader to support the development of an established permanent recruitment function.
The Opportunity
This is far more than a traditional management role. You'll inherit an established portfolio of key client accounts, work alongside experienced recruiters and help shape the future of a successful permanent recruitment team. The role combines leadership, client development, and hands-on recruitment, making it ideal for someone who still enjoys billing but also wants to coach, mentor, and develop others. You'll be trusted to take ownership, improve processes, develop consultants, and help clients solve increasingly complex recruitment challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of experienced permanent recruiters.
- Continue to recruit and generate your own revenue.
- Build trusted relationships with existing client accounts.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing partnerships through additional recruitment solutions and services.
- Help develop consultants through coaching, prioritisation, and performance support.
- Work closely with senior leadership to continue evolving the function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You
You'll be an experienced 360 recruiter who enjoys the relationship side of recruitment as much as the commercial side. More importantly, you'll have a genuine desire to work within a specialist market where quality, curiosity, and consultative recruitment matter.
It is essential that you have:
- A proven track record within permanent recruitment.
- Experience managing or mentoring recruiters, either formally or informally.
- Strong account management and client development skills.
- A consultative approach, taking time to understand businesses rather than simply matching CVs to vacancies.
- A passion for solving complex recruitment challenges and uncovering talent that others struggle to find.
- The ability to go beyond sourcing CVs by selecting the right person for the role, not just the available candidate.
