Hays Recruitment Manager - Technology team

Birmingham | Hybrid working
Salary dependant on experience

We are looking for a driven and commercially minded Recruitment Team Manager to lead our Technology team in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a temp desk, lead a team of ten consultants and play a key role in driving the next phase of growth.

Your New Team

As our top performing office outside of London, the Birmingham office is a well-established, highly collaborative business with strong tenure and extensive market coverage. Within Technology, the team has built a strong reputation across Data, Cloud and Software, underpinned by longstanding client relationships and consistent demand.

You’ll be managing a team of eleven consultants, all contributing to Cloud, Data and Software desks with clear temp or perm focus across the public and private sector. Most of the team have been with Hays for over 7 years, and the wider office provides a supportive environment with experienced leadership and strong cross-team collaboration across the Central Region.

Your New Role

In this position, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of 11 Recruitment Consultants, supporting them to achieve and exceed targets
  • Drive team performance, setting clear direction and delivering revenue growth across the market
  • Operate your own 360 temporary desk, remaining hands-on in the market
  • Build and develop relationships with key clients and stakeholders across Birmingham and surrounding areas
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts
  • Support the team with complex roles, client strategy and overall desk development
  • Ensure high standards of service, compliance and operational delivery across the team
  • Contribute to the wider office strategy and ongoing success

What you’ll need to succeed

You will have experience as a Recruitment Manager, Senior Consultant or above, ideally within Technology or another complex, technical or regulated market. You’ll bring a strong track record in contract or permanent recruitment, business development and team leadership.

You’ll be commercially driven, confident influencing senior stakeholders, and passionate about developing others. Strong communication skills, high standards of professionalism and a proactive, curious mindset will be essential as you build market share and strengthen our position across Technology.
