Daz In The Hat Radio CIC is looking for a Recruitment Officer
Daz In The Hat Radio CIC is looking for a Recruitment Officer to help attract and recruit volunteers across all areas of the station, including on-air presenters and back-office roles.
What difference will you make?
The Recruitment Officer volunteer role plays a crucial part in strengthening the sustainability, growth and community impact of Daz In The Hat Radio CIC. As a volunteer-led Community Interest Company, the station depends on committed and capable individuals to deliver programming, manage administration, support marketing, oversee music submissions and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Without a structured approach to recruitment, growth can become inconsistent and existing volunteers may become overstretched.
The Recruitment Officer will provide a focused and proactive approach to attracting new volunteers across all areas of the station, including on-air presenters and back-office roles. By building relationships with 6th form colleges, universities, community groups and social organisations, the role will widen access to opportunities in broadcasting and media. This outreach approach is particularly important in supporting individuals who may face barriers to entry into the industry, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, people with disabilities and individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
By increasing the diversity of our volunteer base, the station will benefit from a broader range of voices, experiences and perspectives. This enhances creativity, strengthens community representation and ensures our programming reflects the audiences we serve. A structured recruitment process also improves volunteer retention by ensuring individuals are matched to roles that suit their skills, interests and availability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Recruitment Officer therefore contributes not only to day-to-day operations but also to long-term sustainability and growth.
Ultimately, this role helps Daz In The Hat Radio CIC remain inclusive, community-driven and forward-thinking, ensuring we continue to provide opportunities in radio while giving unsigned artists a platform to reach wider audiences.
