Based at our contemporary head office and distribution centre on the outskirts of Preston, James Hall & Co. Ltd. have been established for over 150 years proudly serving communities across the north of England as supplier and distributor to over 450 SPAR stores.

Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of work: 38 hours per week Monday to Friday. 8.30am - 5.00pm (4.00pm Friday)
Location: Office based - James Hall & Co. Ltd, SPAR Distribution Centre, Bowland View, Preston, PR2 5QT
Salary: £29,035.24
About the Role
We're looking for a passionate and people-focused Recruitment & Onboarding Advisor to support recruitment across our retail division, with occasional support provided to other areas of the business.
You'll manage the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding process, working closely with store managers to attract, recruit and onboard great people. You'll be responsible for delivering an excellent experience for both candidates and hiring managers, while continuously looking for ways to improve our recruitment and onboarding processes.

Here’s What You Can Expect to be Doing
- Manage the full recruitment and onboarding cycle from vacancy approval through to successful onboarding.
- Work with retail managers to understand hiring needs and provide recruitment guidance and support.
- Use creative and innovative methods to promote vacancies, increasing visibility and attracting high-quality candidates.
- Screen applications, shortlist candidates and coordinate interviews.
- Deliver a positive candidate experience through timely communication and support.
- Ensure all onboarding activity is completed accurately and compliantly.
- Build strong relationships with managers across the retail division.
- Support recruitment activity across other business areas when required.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate recruitment records and ensure compliance with employment legislation, GDPR and company procedures.
