Sporting Jobs | Sports Recruitment Business

UK (Office - Birmingham)
£50,000–£60,000 Base
OTE £100,000

Reporting directly to the Shareholders

Sporting Jobs is a leading sports recruitment business, working with organisations across professional sport, governing bodies, sports technology, media, rights holders and the wider sports industry. We recruit across the UK and internationally and work in conjunction with Sporting Group International (SGI), a specialist sponsorship agency, providing clients with a broader network and market insight.

We are looking to appoint a Recruitment Partner to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of Sporting Jobs. This is a senior appointment with full P&L responsibility, overseeing the continued growth and performance of the business, leading the team and maintaining strong relationships with clients across the sports sector.

The business has an established reputation having served it’s tenth year in 2026, a loyal client base and significant opportunities for further growth, supported by the wider SGI group.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role within a specialist recruitment business. As Recruitment Partner, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Sporting Jobs, balancing leadership, operational oversight and your own recruitment activity.

What you will be doing:

  • Running the Sporting Jobs P&L - owning revenue targets, managing costs, and driving profitable growth
  • Personally billing across sport sector clients at all levels in the UK - from exec search to volume mandates
  • Building and managing your own client portfolio: clubs, federations, wider sports businesses and agencies
  • Leading, coaching and developing the recruitment team (2-5 consultants) with regular 1:1s and structured appraisals
  • Driving new client acquisition through outbound BD, LinkedIn, networking, and attending sport industry events
  • Maintaining and growing the CRM - championing data accuracy and pipeline discipline across the team
  • Presenting monthly performance reports to the Board: P&L, KPI dashboards, pipeline, and headcount updates
  • Cross-selling into the wider Sporting Group International group - generating introductions across the group of businesses

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
