Continued growth means we're looking for an experienced Recruitment Specialist to take ownership of our end-to-end recruitment process, helping us attract, engage and appoint exceptional people across all areas of the business.
This is a highly visible role, working closely with Directors, Operational Managers and the HR team to ensure we recruit the right people who share our commitment to safety, professionalism and delivering outstanding service.
Whether recruiting HGV Drivers, Drainage Engineers, CCTV Survey Teams, Tanker Operators, Supervisors, Managers or specialist support staff, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of our workforce.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from vacancy approval through to onboarding.
- Build strong relationships with hiring managers to understand workforce planning, operational requirements and future recruitment needs.
- Produce engaging job advertisements that reflect the Drainline brand and attract high-quality candidates.
- Proactively source candidates using job boards, LinkedIn, recruitment databases, social media and industry networks.
- Screen applications, conduct telephone interviews and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Ensure an excellent candidate experience through timely communication and professional engagement.
- Manage our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring vacancies, candidate records and recruitment documentation remain accurate and compliant.
- Coordinate pre-employment checks including Right to Work, references, licence verification and other compliance requirements.
- Support onboarding activities to ensure new employees have a positive introduction to the business.
- Develop talent pipelines for key operational roles to support future growth.
- Monitor recruitment performance, producing reports on vacancies, time-to-hire and recruitment activity.
- Work collaboratively with HR and senior management to continuously improve recruitment processes and employer branding.

What we're looking for:
We're looking for someone who combines excellent recruitment expertise with strong organisational skills and the ability to build trusted relationships throughout the business.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment.
- Previous experience recruiting within construction, highways, utilities, engineering, transport, environmental services or another operational industry.
- Experience recruiting both blue-collar operational roles and professional office-based positions.
- Strong sourcing skills with the ability to identify talent in competitive employment markets.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence hiring decisions where appropriate.
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple vacancies simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach with a genuine passion for finding great people.

Desirable
- Experience recruiting HGV Drivers or safety-critical operational roles.
- Knowledge of CPC, CSCS, Street Works, Highways Passport or other industry competencies.
- Experience working within an ISO accredited organisation.
- Understanding of recruitment compliance within regulated industries.
