About the Role
The Operations & Middle Office department at Millennium seeks a driven and thorough Reference Data Operations Specialist to join the Data Operations team, based in London. This team operates within Control and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s Global Security Master via data quality measures while managing processes for onboarding new securities and attributes.
Ideal candidates will be self-starters with a keen eye for detail, a background in financial services—particularly in Security Master & Reference Data—and a passion for initiating process improvements, efficiency, and real-time problem-solving.
Principal Responsibilities
- Ensuring the accurate creation and maintenance of all tradable securities in Millennium’s Global Security Master
- Overseeing data quality control checks through system and business validations
- Monitoring Corporate Actions and Market Data events to proactively prevent disruptions in downstream processes
- Liaising and resolving ad hoc issues raised by internal (front-, middle- and back-office) and external (data vendors) stakeholders
- Analyzing datasets to work with Development teams on requirements, designing, and implementing new processes and workflows for the Security Master
- Managing a small team in EMEA & APAC and collaborating globally with regional leads, including:
- Stakeholder management across Trading, Risk, and Operations
- Serving as an escalation point for complex issues

Qualifications & Skills Required
Experience & Background
- 8+ years in financial services, preferably at a broker-dealer or asset management firm, with expertise in Security Master / Reference Data
- Proven ability to lead a small team and collaborate across regions/time zones

Specialist Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of financial instruments, including:
- Equities
- Fixed income
- Derivatives
- Experience with data vendors, including:
- Bloomberg, Refinitiv (LSEG), Markit (S&P Global), ICE, and others
Technical Proficiencies
- Ability to implement and maintain new systems, procedures, and controls
- Analytical skills for reviewing/validating datasets to identify gaps and driving requirements
- Fundamental SQL query experience and proficient in MS Excel
Soft Skills
- Strong communication with senior stakeholders, including interpersonal and stakeholder management expertise
- Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a team-driven environment
- Self-directed, diligent problem-solver, motivated to contribute to Millennium’s reputation and success
