Roding Valley High School – part of the Chelmsford Learning Partnership – is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Reflection Room Supervisor (Pupil Support Lead).
This is not simply a supervision role. It is a pivotal pastoral leadership position shaping behaviour outcomes, fostering student success, and leading a team to deliver essential interventions every day.
About the Role
The selected candidate will oversee Reflection Room provision, ensuring it is a structured, purposeful space for students to reset, reflect, and re-engage with learning. With full operational responsibility, the role will:
- Lead behaviour intervention and reintegration (promoting positive behaviours and classroom compliance).
- Line manage and develop LSAs supporting behaviour and inclusion.
- Work directly with students exhibiting challenging behaviours.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally with Heads of Year, senior leadership, and families.
- Analyse behaviour data to inform an evolving inclusion strategy that benefits the entire school.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide a calm, structured environment for students in need of reflective time.

Team Management
- Supervise two LSAs—provide training, mentorship, and accountability to enhance their professional practice.

- Maintain robust behaviour logs, referrals, and escalation protocols.
Student-Focused Interventions
- Deliver Personalised Behaviour Contracts and follow ups.

- Carry out home visits and family liaison where needed.
- Lead group Reflective Circles and Onward Plan reviews.
Data-Informed Improvements

- Support Headteachers in developing school-wide strategies for unsafe language/conduct or missed safeguarding alerts.
Requirements & Qualities
We are seeking an individual who:
✅ Demonstrates “warm-strict” authority – firm, fair, and empathetic, building trust while maintaining consequences. ✅ Proven track record in:

✅ Due diligence and stakeholder spotlight:
