Optometrist (Zero-Hour Contract)
Optegra has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced optometrist to join our exceptional and dedicated team. This is an exciting role in a forward-thinking business with a comprehensive benefits package, including fully funded training, development programs, and flexible shifts available at our Kent Clinic.
Salary: Up to £50 per hour, dependent on refractive experience.

The Role
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll work alongside consultants, performing key clinical responsibilities:

- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative consultations to assess patient suitability for refractive surgery, cataract, and medical retina procedures.
- Carry out examinations linked to refractive surgery, cataract, and medical retina processes.
- Manage acute and post-surgery follow-up clinics, recording patient findings in electronic medical record systems.
- Offer health advice and support to hospital patients.
- Provide first-line clinical advice to patients, referring to medical practitioners when necessary.
- Stay up-to-date with CQC policies and guidelines, attending mandatory update training.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, applicants must fulfil the following:

- Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist.
- Extensive experience in refractive, high-street, or hospital optometry.
- Experience with patient administration and electronic medical record systems.
- Comfortable working towards conversion targets and KPIs in vision correction.
