What You’ll Do
Responsibilities
As a key member of our engineering team, you’ll play an essential role in keeping our customers’ systems running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned service and maintenance on a wide range of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
- Diagnosing faults, identifying solutions, and delivering timely, effective repairs.
- Installing, testing, and commissioning new systems to the highest industry standards.
- Completing refrigerant recovery, evacuation and recharging work safely and accurately.
- Providing exceptional customer service and representing Pitkin & Ruddock with professionalism.
- Maintaining detailed service records and ensuring full compliance with company procedures.
- Keeping up to date with the latest technologies, equipment and best practices.
- Collaborating with colleagues and contractors to deliver projects efficiently and safely.
- Consistently adhering to our robust Health & Safety standards

What you'll bring
We’re looking for engineers who demonstrate both technical ability and pride in their work. You will have:
- Proven experience as a Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Service Engineer.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial refrigeration and AC systems (including walk-ins, bottle coolers and ice machines).
- Confident mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Sound understanding of refrigerant handling and recovery procedures.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Great communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- A valid UK driver’s licence.
- Relevant qualifications such as F-Gas, NVQ, or City & Guilds.
