Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Region CFO, you will be responsible for the comprehensive and strategic management of our region's financial operations. You will provide crucial executive leadership across all aspects of finance, driving fiscal health and strategic growth.

Every day, you will oversee and provide dynamic leadership in patient financial services, ensuring efficient and effective revenue cycles. You will also spearhead both short- and long-term financial planning, capital and operational budgeting, and strategies for capital accumulation and corporate diversification. A core part of your role will involve optimizing revenue generation and meticulously managing expenses, utilizing advanced financial analysis to inform critical decisions. You will direct financial operations and leverage information systems to enhance efficiency and reporting. Furthermore, you will hold overall responsibility for recommending financial policies and developing relevant operational procedures, ensuring robust financial governance and compliance.

To be successful in this role, you will possess extensive experience in senior financial leadership within a complex organizational structure, demonstrating a proven track record in all facets of finance management, including financial planning, budgeting, revenue generation, and expense control. You will exhibit exceptional strategic thinking and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for executive leadership. Strong leadership and communication skills, coupled with an unwavering commitment to financial integrity and operational excellence, will be essential in guiding our financial strategy and ensuring sustainable growth.

  • Plans, directs and evaluates the operations of the Financial Services division, including the FHS Business Office, General Financial Services, Property Management, Patient Access, Health Information Management, Management Services Organization (PHN) and Non-Governmental Reimbursement; develops and manages overall division budget; selects, manages, and evaluates the performance of departmental managers and support staff reporting to this position; develops and communicates performance standards.
  • Serves as a member of various Franciscan Health System committees involved in policy and procedure development, program planning, and conflict resolution as requested or approved by the President/CEO; develops programs, policies, and plans for the efficient and effective operation of FHS; participates in system-wide strategic and program planning, development and evaluation.
  • Directs the preparation of the operating, capital, and cash budgets for the management of the System in accordance with the mission, values and strategic business objectives of the organization, and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Consults with divisional Vice Presidents and assistant administrators to coordinate interdepartmental activities; assists in determining and implementing departmental activities and operating procedures; and assist in interpreting the FHS Mission Statement, program plans, policies, procedures, budgets, and operating statements.
  • Assists the divisional Vice Presidents, assistant administrators, and departmental managers with the preparation and management of the operating and capital budgets to assure appropriate resource allocation in accordance with the parameters established.
  • Finalizes budget requests, prepares required written narratives, and reviews the final proposal with the President/CEO; prepares, or directs the preparation of, reports, analyses, and recommendations for the financial management of the System.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors Other in accounting, finance, or related field, upon hire
  • Masters Other in business administration, hospital administration or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired, upon hire
  • five (5) years experience in hospital financial management

Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant: WA, upon hire
  • Driver's License: WA, upon hire
