Job Introduction
The Regional Account Manager is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth within a defined geographical and sector-based territory. This includes building strong relationships with new, existing, and lapsed customers, promoting ESS’s full range of products and services, and achieving or exceeding revenue targets. The role also includes managing key accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Profitability
- Achieve and exceed regional sales targets with profitable margins.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of accounts across assigned postcodes.
- Prepare and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure pricing, margin, and debt levels meet company expectations.
- Collaborate with branch and regional managers to align on target accounts.
- Monitor and report on P&L performance and business plan progress.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue opportunities with both new and existing customers.
- Conduct site visits, build relationships with key personnel, and deliver product demonstrations.
- Maximise cross-selling opportunities across the ESS range.
- Work closely with Product and Technical Support teams to develop new revenue streams.
- Proactively increase customer spend through tailored solutions and value propositions.
Branch Collaboration
- Partner with branch teams to support shared revenue and growth targets.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal sales and operations personnel.
- Promote clear communication, transparency, and coordinated customer engagement.
CRM & Administration
- Maintain accurate and current customer records within the CRM system.
- Complete daily activity updates and ensure full CRM compliance.
- Use data insights to support call planning and identify high-potential accounts.
- Adhere to a 20-day planning cycle and submit timely reports and forecasts.

Product & Market Expertise
- Gain and maintain a deep understanding of the ESS product portfolio.
- Attend supplier and internal training sessions to enhance product knowledge.
- Effectively communicate product benefits and legislative compliance to customers.
- Deliver targeted product demonstrations aligned to customer needs.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Uphold high standards of personal and site safety.
- Maintain knowledge of HSE regulations relevant to customer sectors.
- Participate in site inductions and comply with all site-specific rules and requirements.
Flexibility & Adaptability
- Carry out additional tasks as required by management, in line with skills and competencies, to support business operations.
The Ideal Candidate
- Educated to a good standard.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Self-motivated with strong commercial awareness.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and objection-handling skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home when necessary.
- Experience in the rental, survey, safety, communications, or test & measurement sectors (desirable)
- Knowledge of working at height and confined space environments (desirable)
- Background in the construction industry or site-based sales roles (desirable)
