If you're looking for a busy and progressive business to join where you'll feel valued as an important member of the property team, this is exactly what you're looking for.
This is a great opportunity for any Building Surveyors who are looking to break away from consultancy or make a move from any other regional role, taking ownership of a portfolio and helping with dilapidations projects from start to finish, large complex maintenance works and a myriad of other duties.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Covering the North of England and Scotland there will be extensive regional travel, regular overnight stays and occasional UK-wide travel as well - but each day will be different and interesting, working with the other key-members of the team to make sure the work is completed in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
You should have enough Building Surveying experience to be comfortable working remotely and autonomously, ideally in the retail sector or similar, but that's not a dealbreaker. If you're MRICS or MCIOB chartered then that's great, but again it's not necessary for this position. You should live somewhere in the North of England or Scotland to cover that area.
