Regional Business Consultant (Wales – CF, NP, SA, SY, LD)
Overview
- Title: Regional Business Consultant
- Location: Wales (covering CF, NP, SA, SY, LD)
- Reports to: Regional Business Manager
- Department: External Sales
- Core Role: To manage a portfolio of accounts across Wales and deliver growth through strategic sales and account management.
Salary & Package
- Compensation: Basic salary + bonus (negotiated), company car, laptop, phone, and business expenses.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with builders’ merchants, timber merchants and fixing distributors.
- Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities, expanding account potential proactively.
- Collaborate with key accounts to evaluate products and services, tailoring solutions to meet their needs.
- Create bespoke product profiles and structured business plans, driving their successful execution.
- Set and meet meaningful call objectives with measurable outcomes.
- Leverage promotions to enhance sales performance across product ranges.
- Negotiate and implement new discounts for both current and emerging product lines.
- Promote and upskill customers in web and EDI ordering systems.
- Assist with merchandising efforts and in-store or workshop training where necessary.
- Actively participate in trade shows and industry exhibitions to showcase products and network.
- Ensure full utilisation of CRM software, maintaining accurate records of contacts, activities and progress.

Requirements
- Proven track record in sales, preferably with experience within distribution channels, particularly in the timber, building materials, or fixing trades sector.
- Strong, outgoing personality with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation ability, coupled with a commercial mindset to recognise business opportunities.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Adaptable team player with a willingness to support colleagues and share best practice.
