Senior Regional Finance Representative – Place‑Based Investment

Location: Remote (East Midlands / West Midlands) Hours: 37.5 hrs/week (flexible Mon-Fri) Contract: Permanent Department: Local Growth Team

THE ROLE

Join the Bank to shape and lead its place-based activity—a critical leadership opportunity to drive commercial impact, strengthen the local financial ecosystem, and unlock sustained growth for businesses with high potential.

As the Senior Representative for Place-Based Work in your designated region, you will:

  • Develop tailored local strategies aligned with the Bank’s broader objectives, using commercial expertise, market insight, and the Bank’s full toolkit.
  • Lead efforts to catalyse investment activity across markets, ensuring measurable outcomes for local economies.
  • Build and sustain trusted, credible relationships with finance stakeholders spaning:
    • BBB-rated fund managers
    • Traditional & non-bank lenders
    • Limited partners
  • Leverage technical knowledge of debt and equity products to identify and shape opportunities.
  • Collaborate with private and public partners to:
    • Influence and refine local financial structures and programmes.
    • Mobilise both frontline teams and wider colleagues toward common goals.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated 5+ years in a relevant senior financial services, investment, or venture financing role
  • Strong Dealmaking or Investment acumen with clarity to identify and capitalise on localised opportunities
  • Proven experience attracting equity and loan investments across private/public sector partnerships
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Track record of coalition-building across diverse funding ecosystems
  • Boldness to influence decision-makers at inception to ensure strategic alignment
