About the Role
Lead a group of schools. Back the people who run them. Change what education means for young people who have been let down before.
As regional director for education, you lead 3 to 4 of our schools and the headteachers who run them. You are accountable for:
- The quality of education
- The performance of each school
- The commercial health of your region
This role is based in the Midlands, supporting schools across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and line manage the headteachers of 3 to 4 schools, holding them accountable for standards and outcomes
- Coach and develop headteachers, including ongoing continuing professional development
- Own the commercial performance of your region, including:
- Profit and loss (P&L)
- Budgets
- Occupancy
- Lead staffing, recruitment, and succession planning to ensure every school has the right people
- Oversee quality assurance across your portfolio, conducting:
- Regular dip checks
- Learning walks
- Work sampling
- Maintain every school at inspection readiness for:
- The Independent School Standards
- The Ofsted framework
- Robust safeguarding standards

Requirements
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Significant experience as a headteacher in a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision, running one or more schools
- Experience leading inspections as an accountable senior leader
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A senior leadership qualification, such as an NPQSL or equivalent
- Strong commercial understanding, including managing budgets and profit and loss (P&L)
- Deep knowledge of the:
- Independent School Standards
- Ofsted framework
- Based in the Midlands, with a full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across all schools including regular overnight stays
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (this role is subject to safer recruitment checks)
