Regional Director of Education

Remote work with regular travel

We are looking for a Regional Director of Education who will play a pivotal role in driving the performance, development, and effectiveness of our schools across the North and Midlands region. With a strong focus on raising educational standards and delivering outstanding outcomes, the Regional Director will lead strategic initiatives that ensure operational excellence to support the organisation's continued growth and success.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Enhancing school performance through:
    • Continuous evaluation
    • Monitoring
    • Leadership development
  • Overseeing student occupancy to ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Leading high-quality training and coaching programs for school leaders
  • Bringing strategic vision, collaborative leadership, and a deep understanding of SEMH issues
  • Ensuring best practices are implemented and shared across the region
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Preparing the region for future expansion and increased commercial success

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status and NPQH/EL (National Professional Qualification for Headship/Executive Leadership)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role covering multiple schools or services, excelling across a region
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with:
    • Independent Schools Standards (ISS)
    • Current Ofsted framework and guidance
  • Proven success in:
    • Meeting both commercial and quality KPIs
    • Delivering successful change management projects within large organisations
    • Leading growth initiatives for new schools or services aligning with strategic priorities
  • Minimum of 2 years’ leadership experience in:
    • A Director / Executive / Headteacher role, or similar
    • Specialised SEN (Special Educational Needs) support provision
  • Demonstrated strategies to enhance school standards, achieving KPIs and raising ofsted performance
  • Strong ability to set and monitor challenging targets in academic performance at all school levels, balancing accountability and outcome-driven success
  • Leadership and team management skills, fostering collaborative successes
  • Experience leading educational planning, budget management, and delivery regionally/nationally
