Job Summary

An established international engineering and technical services organization is seeking a highly skilled Regional Director to lead and expand its operations. This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to influence regional growth, optimize operational performance, and build lasting relationships with major clients in the energy and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will strategize, oversee, and develop multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, quality, and profitability in a fast-paced, technical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all operational activities throughout South America, starting with a focus on Brazil.
  • Provide strategic direction for project execution, operational excellence, profitability, and regional expansion.
  • Manage multiple technical projects, ensuring safety standards, quality, schedule adherence, and financial performance.
  • Develop and lead diverse teams including operations, technical staff, SHEQ, HR, and support functions.
  • Own regional budgets, forecasting, financial performance, cash flow, and key operational metrics.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with major clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term operational strategies and regional growth initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Support business development through operational insights on proposals, project execution, and client solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Master's Degree (MBA or Engineering) is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years of senior operational leadership experience within engineering, technical services, offshore energy, marine, or industrial industries.
  • Proven track record managing P&L, budgets, forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Strong leadership experience guiding large technical teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to enhance operational efficiency while maintaining excellent client satisfaction.
  • Experience working with major energy, offshore, marine, or industrial clients across South America.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a history of supporting business growth.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).
  • Ideal background includes leadership roles in offshore energy, oil & gas, marine services, asset integrity, engineering, industrial inspection, technical field services, or heavy industrial operations.
  • Additional requirements may include willingness to travel, relevant certifications, and relocation to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (relocation assistance available).
