Looking for more than a typical warehouse role? Want to make a real difference behind the scenes to patient care?

The Boots Regional Dispensing Hub (RDH) in Basingstoke is transforming the way repeat prescriptions are dispensed. Combining pharmacy expertise with logistics and automation, our state-of-the-art, semi-automated hub supports Boots pharmacies across the region by preparing and dispatching prescription medicines safely, accurately and efficiently.

As a pharmacy and logistics hybrid operation, the RDH uses advanced technology and automation to centrally dispense repeat prescriptions and dispatch them back to our stores within 24 hours of receiving the prescription. This innovative way of working helps our pharmacy teams in store spend more time with patients, deliver more healthcare services and support the communities they serve.

About The Role

Working as an Operative is an exciting opportunity to join a growing healthcare operation and play a key role in ensuring patients receive the medicines they need. You’ll be part of a supportive team and help manage the flow of stock through the site, ensuring medicines are received, stored and prepared for dispensing in line with strict quality, safety and patient care standards.

No two days are exactly the same. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, teamwork and attention to detail are essential. Whether you're receiving deliveries, managing stock, or preparing products for automated dispensing, you'll be making a real difference behind the scenes to support patient care across the region and help ensure prescriptions reach our stores quickly and efficiently.

The salary for this role is £13.12 per hour. This role is based on-site at the Boots Regional Dispensing Hub located above the Boots Distribution centre on Rutherford Road, Basingstoke. The site is open Monday to Sunday from 06:00-22:00, so some flexibility may be required with working hours, including occasional weekend work.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Receive, check and process deliveries arriving at the site.
  • Accurately sort and store stock in designated locations within the hub.
  • Pick, sort and prepare medication ready for automated dispensing into individual customer orders.
  • Ensure stock is handled safely, securely and efficiently at all times.
  • Carry out inventory and stock control activities to maintain accuracy across the operation.
  • Support the smooth movement of products through the dispensing process.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Operations and Pharmacy teams to meet service and performance targets.
  • Follow all health, safety and operational procedures to support the safe and legal handling of medicines.
  • Provide support with additional operational tasks as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
