Regional Engineering Manager

Regional Engineering Manager Location: Livingston, EH54 8AF Hours: 40 per week Contract: Permanent Hybrid: 2 days in-office, 3 days remote/travel

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Management (FM) professional, with an ideal Hard FM or technical specialisation, to lead multi-service teams within a small account portfolio.


About the Role

Your expertise will be essential in delivering high-quality operational performance while ensuring compliance, service excellence, and site-level consistency. A strong understanding of the customer’s operational needs will allow you to:

  • Drive value creation
  • Enhance customer retention
  • Support business growth

You must balance leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial acumen to optimise both operational delivery and financial performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-site operations, ensuring stringent adherence to KPIs, SLAs, and service performance standards.
  • Own budget stewardship, including cost control and P&L accountability, alongside labour/resource efficiency.
  • Lead health, safety, and compliance initiatives, including statutory obligations, PPE use, and HSEQ-related policy compliance (SOPs, COSHH assessments, RAMS).
  • Manage engineering teams (approx. 7 staff), aligning staffing structures and resource allocation to operational needs.
  • Ensure operational policies (OPF) and service excellence alignment across assigned sites.
  • Act as primary client/stakeholder interface, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in Facilities Management (FM), with a technical/engineering bias (e.g., maintenance, compliance, M&E).
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in a small client portfolio.
  • Formal health/safety qualifications in relation to FM (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
  • Deep expertise across HSEQ processes, including:
    • Risk assessments (RAMS)
    • COSHH assessments
    • ISO audits and compliance frameworks
  • Leadership in operational environments, balancing national standards against local site conditions.
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to engage both technical staff and client representatives effectively.

Additional Terms

  • Valid UK driving licence required (car allowance provided for travel between sites).
  • Flexible hybrid model: 2 days office-based, 3 days remote/site-focused.
