About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Engineering Manager to join the Sunbelt Rentals team. Supporting our team of Service Engineers, Service Centre and Workshop Managers, you'll drive a continuous improvement program based around safety, people, quality, productivity, and equipment availability.
Additionally, you'll be responsible for a team of field-based Engineers throughout the UK, including organising and allocating daily work schedules.
As Regional Engineering Manager, you'll report into the Rental Solutions Regional Director and your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the highest levels of quality and availability of products, while maintaining optimum stock levels
- Prioritising and managing a repair program (focusing on high-earning/UTE% items), ensuring all assets are fully compliant with Health & Safety regulations and maintained according to relevant service schedules
- Managing quality improvement initiatives while supporting the development of a Centres of Excellence model
- Driving technical skills development and an apprenticeship programme
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety/Quality Assurance regulations, including completion of statutory training
- Carrying out investigations into major asset failures, identifying trends, and conducting root cause analysis with relevant stakeholders
- Overseeing field service planning for your team of field engineers across the region
- Responding to breakdowns, appointing engineers, and selecting the most cost-effective solution while meeting customers' Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Appointing third parties when necessary to cover breakdowns and raising order numbers upon completion
- Managing the call logging control system for breakdowns and service, including maintenance of Out of Hours call-out roaster

To succeed as a Regional Engineering Manager, you’ll bring the following skills and behaviours:
- Exceptional leadership experience, demonstration of team development and people management
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with proven ability to delegate effectively and inspire confidence and empowerment in teams
- Proven operational management experience of a large team across multiple sites
- Excellent planning and organising skills, having proven ability to prioritise workload efficiently and work under pressure to strict deadlines
- Commercial acumen and financial awareness—knowledge of financial data, Profit & Loss (P&L), cost control, and budgeting
- Ability to source and analyse data, presenting results and recommendations
- Valuable past or current experience gained through IOSH certification
- Full driving licence is mandatory:
- Must be able to travel within and beyond your assigned region
- Flexibility to adapt and unforeseen challenges with rapidly changing priorities
- Aptitude for understanding and resolving complex business problems
