Job Summary

The International Motors Regional Manager is responsible for supporting the growth, performance, and operational excellence of a multi-brand dealer network across the assigned territory.

The role is accountable for the day-to-day management, development, and performance optimisation of dealer partners, ensuring delivery of key business objectives across wholesale, retail, aftersales, customer satisfaction, profitability, operational compliance, and brand representation.

Acting as the primary business partner for the dealer network, the Regional Manager combines strategic commercial leadership with robust operational governance, dealer coaching, and network development expertise. The role requires a highly organised and commercially driven individual capable of balancing relationship management with performance accountability and sustainable business growth.

The Regional Manager is expected to operate with an “owner’s mindset,” proactively identifying opportunities to enhance dealer performance, strengthen market representation, and deliver long-term value across the territory.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Performance & Sales Leadership

  • Deliver wholesale, retail, parts, and accessory targets across the assigned region.
  • Support dealer partners in improving sales effectiveness, lead conversion, and profitability.
  • Ensure effective management and follow-up of all sales and customer enquiries.
  • Analyse performance data and implement structured improvement plans where required.
  • Support local business development, fleet opportunities, affinity partnerships, and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Aftersales teams to maximise regional performance.

Dealer Performance Management & Coaching

  • Provide regular on-site coaching, mentoring, and operational support to dealer partners and their teams.
  • Identify underperformance and implement clear, time-bound corrective action plans.
  • Support adoption of best practice across sales, marketing, customer experience, and operational standards.
  • Deliver or facilitate training across sales, product, finance, digital marketing, and customer experience disciplines.
  • Maintain structured and consistent engagement with dealer principals and senior leadership teams.

Network Development & Representation

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen network coverage and market representation.
  • Lead the recruitment, appointment, and onboarding of new dealer partners in line with network strategy.
  • Support dealership ownership changes, relocations, facility developments, and operational transitions.
  • Manage dealer termination and replacement processes where required.
  • Project manage new dealership openings through to successful launch and stabilisation.

Franchise Standards, Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure dealer compliance with franchise agreements, operational standards, CI/VI requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitor dealership performance against agreed KPIs and standards.
  • Manage audit processes, reporting requirements, and dealer visit documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to dealer performance, contractual compliance, and support activity.
  • Work closely with senior leadership on dealer agreement matters, non-compliance issues, and performance escalations.

Brand & Relationship Management

  • Act as a professional ambassador for International Motors brands within the territory.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with dealer principals and senior management teams.
  • Support national and regional events, launches, shows, and dealer forums.
  • Promote a collaborative and high-performance culture across all stakeholders.
  • Ensure all activity reflects company values and customer-first principles.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present regional performance reviews and dealer meeting content.
  • Monitor automotive market trends, competitor activity, and local opportunities.
  • Support the introduction and ongoing development of additional brands or business initiatives where required.
  • Provide regional support and cover for other territories where required, including supporting colleagues during periods of annual leave, sickness absence, or increased business demand.
  • Work flexibly to support business needs including occasional weekend work, overnight stays, and international travel where necessary.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with all internal departments.

Qualifications and experience required

  • Proven experience within the automotive industry, ideally in OEM, franchise, dealer operations, or regional management roles.
  • Previous experience managing franchised dealer networks or senior dealership operations.
  • Strong understanding of dealership KPIs, operational performance metrics, and commercial management.
  • Knowledge of dealership financial structures and accountancy practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and challenge senior decision makers constructively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Experience in dealer development, network expansion, and performance improvement.
  • Competent in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital communication platforms.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
